About the Teacher

The 2014-2015 school year is my ninth year here at Forest Creek and my sixteenth year in education. I am pleased to be a part of our community, and I enjoy working with the wonderful children and faculty here.

Before coming to Forest Creek, I taught in Austin ISD for five years at Langford Elementary. I taught fourth grade, and then fifth grade science. Prior to that, I spent two years as a paraprofessional in the computer labs at Linder Elementary.

I received my Bachelor's degree in psychology from Auburn University. I split the focus in my major between adolescent psychology, I/O psychology, and behavioral neuroscience. I also double minored in French and art history (this became a five-year plan).

After moving to Texas in 1998, I earned my Master's degree in Education from Texas State University. I am certified to teach all elementary and middle school grades except kindergarten, and I have additional certifications and endorsements for English as a Second Language, Talented and Gifted, and all middle school sciences.

I have been married for fourteen years to my husband, Derek, and we have three children. My oldest daughter, Amelia, is eleven, my son, Luke, is nine, and my youngest daughter, Evelyn, is
seven.
